RSMDCC stands for Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage, and Civil Commotions. RSMDCC is an extension that usually exists in fire insurance, Property All Risk insurance, and motor vehicle insurance. By attaching this extension, the policy covers property against damage or loss caused by Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage, Civil Commotion.
The expansion of the RSDMCC is contained in Endorsement 41.B, namely “Riots, Strikes, Malicious Damage and Civil Commotion”. In the clause, it is stated that:
This coverage is extended to:
Damage to the insured property and/or interest which is directly caused by one or more of the following risks:
1.1. Unrest
1.2. Strike
1.3. Work Barriers
1.4. Evil Deed
1.5. Riot
1.6. Prevention, with respect to the risks of item 1.1. up to 1.5.
Loss of the insured property and/or interest which is directly caused by:
1.7. Looting that occurred during the Riot
or riot
provided that these risks do not develop in an uninterrupted sequence of events into one or more of the excluded risks.
The definition of the wording clause is:
Unrest is the act of a group of at least 12 (twelve) people who, in carrying out a common goal, create an atmosphere of disturbance of public order with noise and use violence and damage to other people’s property, which has not been considered as a riot or is not included in the definition of terrorism.
Strike is an act of deliberate destruction by a group of workers, a minimum of 12 (twelve) workers or half of the total number of workers (in the case that the total number of workers is less than twenty four people), who refuses to work as usual in an effort to force the employer to comply with the demands of the workers. or in protesting against the rules or conditions of employment imposed by the employer to the extent that such action does not fall within the definition of Terrorism
Work Barriers is an act of destruction that is intentionally carried out by a group of workers, a minimum of 12 (twelve) workers or half of the total number of workers (in the event that the total number of workers is less than twenty-four people), as a result of workers being dismissed or prevented from working by the employer to the extent that such actions does not fall within the definition of terrorism
Evil Deed is the act of a person who intentionally damages another person’s property due to revenge, jealousy, anger or vandalism, except for an act committed by a person who is under the supervision or at the behest of the Insured or who supervises or controls the said property, or by a thief/robber/ looters insofar as the act does not fall within the definition of Terrorism
Riot is a situation in a city where a large number of people together or in small groups create an atmosphere of disturbance to public order and security by making noise and using violence as well as a series of destruction of large amounts of property, in such a way that public fear arises, which is characterized by cessation of more than half of the normal activities of trade centers/shops or offices or schools or public transportation in the city for a minimum of 24 (twenty four) hours continuously starting before, during or after the incident as long as the incident is not included in the definition of Terrorism
Looting is the taking or confiscation of other people’s property by someone (not including by people under the control of the Insured), to be controlled or owned against the law.

For motor vehicle insurance, RSMDCC rate is 0.05% for comprehensive and 0.035% for total loss only. The own risk determined by OJK is: 10% of the approved claims at least Rp. 500,000.
