Prudential Bears Corona Test Fees for Its Customers ~ Akademi Asuransi

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – PT Prudential Life Assurance or Prudential Indonesia said it would cover the cost of testing for the Corona virus for its customers, if needed.

Prudential Indonesia Chief Operations Officer Dian Budiani explained that his party will continue to provide protection in accordance with the benefits and policy provisions for all insurance products owned by customers.

According to Dian, this still applies in conditions caused by COVID-19, including now after the spread of the virus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“Prudential Indonesia will bear the cost of the COVID-19 test as long as the customer is required to be hospitalized medically [medically necessary] and COVID-19 tests needed for efforts to heal customers’ medical conditions,” said Dian to Bisnis, Sunday (15/3/2020).

The company also stated that it would cover the cost of the COVID-19 test for PRUWorks customers, which is a group insurance service for employees of business entities. The test applies to the same conditions as other customers.

“Prudential Indonesia will cover the cost of the COVID-19 test if the customer [asuransi kumpulan] have a medical condition that requires the COVID-19 test, both for inpatient and outpatient treatment, in accordance with the insurance benefits owned by the company,” he said.

All Prudential customers can receive additional cash compensation of IDR 1 million per day if they are hospitalized due to Corona virus infection during the initiative period, calculated from the initial date the customer is hospitalized, for a maximum of 30 days.

These benefits apply to all Prudential customers, whether or not they have health or hospital insurance benefits. According to him, this applies to all claims that have been definitively diagnosed with COVID-19 infection by the hospital.

Previously, President Joko Widodo explained that in line with the development of the corona case, the government would increase extra steps in dealing with the pandemic. One of them is by increasing the service of COVID-19 infection testing and treatment to the maximum.
