Get to know Artha Proteksi's Friends Insurance ~ Asuransi Academy

PT Asuransi Sahabat Artha Proteksi is a general insurance company previously named PT. Bess Central Insurance. The name change was officially announced by the board of directors of Sahabat Insurance in an official announcement on April 27, 2020. Bess Insurance was established in 1997 under the name Asuransi Chiyoda Indonesia. Chiyoda is a joint venture of The Chiyoda Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd and Central Asia Insurance in 1997.

The company also changed its name to Asuransi AIOI Indonesia in 2001 to match the merger of The Chiyoda Fire & Marine Insurance Co.Ltd. and The Dai-Tokyo Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd.. Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company Limited.

Previously, Aioi Insurance Company Limited (the result of the merger of 2 Japanese companies in 2001, namely Chiyoda and Dai-Tokyo) sold all of its shares in Asuransi AIOI Indonesia to Asuransi Central Asia in 2011. In the following year, Aioi Insurance again sold a few shares to 3 individuals, so that the shareholders of this company became Asuransi Central Asia and 3 individuals, namely Ardi Salim, Gunawan Budiharjo, and Anta Winarta.
